Hula Hoop

I spent my Friday on a range of social media sites. It began with Instagram where I discovered old friends with new experiences; after which I moved on to Pinterest my “go-to” place for DIY and crafts. Finally, I hit the online magazines and blogs in search of what I will refer to as “pure fashion”.

Naturally, Vogue was the number one destination encapsulating “pure fashion” and the Chanel Hula Hoop bag enveloped me in its creative circus.

Has there ever been a bag less practical? Is this the extraordinaire that is “fashion”? More importantly, would you carry this beach bag or maybe a smaller version?

Celine Marant

Every now and then, there’s a fad that everyone seems to cling to. It lasts but for a moment before we then move on to the next craze with the old bearly a memory of what used to be.

Recently, Wura (yet another one of my sisters) drew my attention to these Isabelle Marant wedged sneakers and this Celine Phantom handbag. We’ve spotted them on 9/10 notable fashion blogs and as a result, they are worthy of mentioning. I’m not the slightest bit a fan of sneakers but if Beyonce could feature these on the very much adored ‘Love on Top’ video, it’s jolly well good enough to mention. The Celine bag however is one that is very much after my heart (and pocket) and just because it’s CELINE it’s ruddy well perfect for my blog!

What are your thoughts on these?

Ps: I take no credit for the pictures above, they were taken off of the internet, but once you click on them, you should be redirected to the appropriate pages.

Fiery Red Corporate Chic

If ever there was a way to start the week, it would be in the colour red. Be it a hint of Chanel’s Rouge Coco swiped across your lips or a red power dress boldly but tastefully worn, red bears a history of fiery power and unimpeded dominance which is set to put your week in your own hands.

With waist length box braids and corporate black accessories, Laitan is set to start her week in all the professional glamour that accompanies an amazing week. Below is a picture of her in fiery red corporate Chic, I’m sure you’ll agree.

‘Zibah Couture

It’s no surprise that I’m always on the hunt for new Nigerian labels. I just can’t understand why Nigerians find it so hard to support our economy and shop Nigerian. Having said that, with the excessive rent, demanding tailors and ridiculous expectations, Nigerian brands tend to be overpriced taking us back to square one, shopping abroad. At the end of the day let’s face it, if the H&M’s and Primarks of this world are cheaper and execute a cleaner finish, why would anyone shop Nigerian? Well, I guess we’ll have to weather the storm if ever we’re going to see the rainbow and for this reason, I will support Nigerian fashion as far as my wallet will stretch me.

My latest Nigerian discovery is called ‘Zibah Couture. ‘Zibah Couture is a friend of mine, Andie and her brother, Charles’, label and it’s the diffusion line from their Mum’s label, Hephzibah Couture. I was invited for their launch in May and got the chance to examine creativity from a fresh point of view. To sum it all up in a simple paragraph, I’d describe ‘Zibah Couture as a subtle twang on early Versace with an appreciation of African print.

Below are a few pictures I took at ‘Zibah Couture hope you like….

Ps: I know, I know… I’m a slacker *sigh*
